Police Officer

The Town-Village of Woodstock is accepting applications for a full-time patrol officer position.  Be a part of our team and work in one of the most beautiful communities in Vermont, often described as “the quintessential New England Village”.  Woodstock boasts one of the lowest crime rates in Vermont and the nation and enjoys strong community support and competitive wages and benefits.

We are seeking an energetic, positive thinking, service-oriented police professional with a strong desire to provide quality police services to a small, close knit community.

The successful candidate must possess the following minimum requirements: be at least 19 years of age, possess exceptional moral character and ethics, be currently certified or certifiable as a Full Time Police Officer by the VT Criminal Justice Council (VCJC) and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. Essential functions include, but are not limited to, writing concise and coherent reports, ability to communicate effectively with the general public, have a high tolerance for stress and be in good physical condition possessing strength, dexterity, and good vision.

Unless currently employed as a police officer in Vermont or by the Woodstock Police Department in a Part-Time capacity, the application process includes: medical/physical exam, extensive background investigation, criminal records check and polygraph examination
